Sr. Product Manager
About Cove
Cove is the unified platform for modern commercial property management, bringing building operations and tenant experience together in one place. From work orders and preventive maintenance to visitor management, amenity booking, and engagement analytics, Cove helps property teams at some of the most iconic buildings in the world (including Chicago's Willis Tower) operate smarter, cut costs, and keep tenants coming back. Trusted across 540M+ square feet of commercial real estate, we're at an inflection point and expanding the team.
The Role
We're looking for a Sr Product Manager who has a firm grasp of the product management fundamentals (customer discovery, roadmap prioritization, sprint execution, stakeholder alignment), and who has experience with what is now possible with AI. As the tooling landscape changes with AI, and dev speeds increase the pressure on product management to move fast, with confidence in ideas has never been higher.
At Cove, you won't just manage a roadmap, you'll help define the product strategy for a platform that sits at the center of how commercial real estate gets operated. You'll work alongside our leadership team, embed with customers across major portfolios, and use your CRE domain knowledge to make faster, smarter calls. This is a high-ownership role for someone who's been around the block and wants to do their best work.
What You'll Do
Lead product areas end-to-end: setting strategy, driving discovery, and owning outcomes from launch through iteration.
Develop deep fluency with Cove's customer segments (property managers, building engineers, portfolio owners) and become a trusted voice on their workflows, pain points, and priorities.
Drive sprint ceremonies and agile rituals with enough experience to adapt the process to what the team actually needs.
Rapidly prototype concepts using AI tools to validate bets before committing engineering resources and set the standard for how the broader product team works.
Write clear, well-scoped requirements that give engineering confidence without over-prescribing solutions.
Scope and de-risk large, complex initiatives, structure experiments, define success metrics, and make the call to scale or stop.
Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success to shape positioning, enable the field, and close feedback loops.
Bring expertise around the CRE proptech landscape, competitive products, emerging AI capabilities, customer workflow trends.
Contribute to product team culture: raise the bar on discovery rigor, documentation quality, and cross-functional collaboration.
What We Require
5+ years in a product management role at a B2B SaaS company, with clear examples of owning a product area through multiple full cycles of discovery, build, launch, and iteration.
Enterprise SaaS experience. You understand how decisions get made in complex organizations, what implementation and onboarding really mean for retention, and how to build for multiple stakeholders with different incentives.
Strong customer instincts. You've spent real time in the field — not just discovery calls — and you know the difference between what customers say and what they actually need.
Agile fundamentals. You've run sprints, managed backlogs, and know when to follow the process and when to break it.
Clear, direct communication. You can write a strategy doc that gets leadership aligned and a spec that engineers trust. You've made hard prioritization calls and explained them well.
Comfort with ambiguity at scale. You've operated in fast-moving environments where the roadmap is partly built and partly invented. You create clarity rather than wait for it.
What We'd Love to See
AI & Prototyping
You've built real things with AI prompts, workflows, lightweight tools, using environments like Cursor, v0, Replit, or similar. You prototype to learn, research, and demo.
You can move from idea to working prototype fast enough to use it in a customer conversation the same day/week.
You have strong opinions about where AI creates genuine leverage in CRE workflows vs. where it's still noise and you can articulate the difference to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You've thought about responsible AI rollout for operational software: what it means to automate tasks that affect real people's daily work.
Domain Expertise
Experience in commercial real estate, proptech, facilities management, or a closely adjacent space (smart buildings, hospitality, field service operations).
Familiarity with how property management teams actually operate: the role of legacy systems, the complexity of multi-tenant buildings, the relationship between owners and operators.
An appreciation for why integrations (access control, parking, accounting) aren't just technical specs, they're the connective tissue of how buildings run.
Awareness of the competitive landscape, including broader consolidation trends in building tech.
Discovery & Bet-Sizing
A track record of structured bets: you've defined hypotheses, run experiments, and been willing to kill your own ideas based on evidence.
Fluency with discovery frameworks: jobs-to-be-done, opportunity solution trees, or similar and the judgment to know when to use them and when to move faster.
Experience on multi-sided platforms where landlord, operator, and tenant priorities don't always align.
Craft & Leadership
You set a high bar for product quality and workflow design, especially for operational software used daily by non-technical users.
You've worked closely with design and engineering and know how to push for better without burning bridges.
You've mentored junior PMs or raised the craft of teams around you, formally or informally.
You use data rigorously and know the difference between metrics that matter and metrics that flatter.
Why Cove
Real traction. Nearly 100% customer retention, partnerships with Blackstone, RXR, Cushman & Wakefield, and others. Willis Tower runs on Cove.
Big surface area. One platform, many workflows, lots of room to own something meaningful early in your career.
Genuine AI opportunity. Cove's AI culture is evolving daily. You'd be shaping it, learning from others, and redefining what product management looks like.
Operator culture. We were built by people who've run buildings. That keeps us honest and customer-grounded.
Strong backing, startup pace. Strategic investors and a team that moves fast.
